Three steps to get started.
Establishing care is simpler than most people expect. Here's exactly how it works.
Give us a call
Call (231) 753-1400 and let our front desk know you'd like to establish care. We'll verify your insurance and answer any questions you have.
Schedule your visit
We'll get you on the calendar at a time that works for you. New patient visits are typically scheduled with extra time so we can really get to know you.
Come in and meet your provider
Bring your ID, insurance card, and a list of medications. Records from your previous provider can be transferred β we'll help coordinate that.
What to expect at your first visit
New patient visits are typically 45β60 minutes. We use that time well.
What we'll cover
- Your full medical history
- Current medications and supplements
- Family health history
- Lifestyle and wellness goals
- Any current concerns or symptoms
- Plan for ongoing care
What to bring
- Photo ID
- Insurance card
- List of current medications
- Records from previous provider (if available)
- List of any allergies
- Method of payment for copay
The kind of care that's harder to find than it used to be.
Healthcare in Northern Michigan is increasingly run by big systems that move fast and feel impersonal. We've built something different.
Time that isn't rushed
Visits aren't crammed into 10-minute slots. We take the time to understand what's actually going on β and to listen when you're not sure how to describe it.
Continuity, not assembly line
You'll see the same providers visit after visit. They'll remember your story. That continuity is the foundation of good primary care β and it's getting harder to find.
Independent and accountable
We're locally owned. Decisions are made here, by people who actually know the patients we serve. There's no corporate office overruling clinical judgment.
If you've felt unseen at other practices, you'll feel the difference here.
We accept most insurance plans.
If you're switching providers or establishing care for the first time, we'll help make the transition smooth.
Most major plans
We're in-network with most major commercial insurance plans and Medicare.
Records transfer
We'll help coordinate getting your records from your previous provider.
Self-pay welcome
Don't have insurance? We offer self-pay discount programs to keep care affordable.
A few things to know before you call
What we don't accept
We're unable to accept Medicaid plans at this time. If you have Medicaid, please contact your provider for a list of in-network options.
Visiting from out of state?
Welcome to Northern Michigan. Out-of-state plans may be out-of-network β call us to verify your coverage before establishing care, or come in as self-pay.
Switching from another provider?
It's easier than you might think. Call us with your current provider's name and we'll handle the records request paperwork on our end.
Patient portal access
Once you're a patient, you'll get access to our secure Healow patient portal β view test results, message your provider, and pay bills online.
Ready when you are.
A quick phone call is all it takes to begin establishing care. We'll handle the rest.
