CATEGORY ONE
General Visits
Do I need an appointment for urgent care?
No. Walk in any day we're open. Most urgent care patients are seen in under 30 minutes.
What are your hours?
We're open 7 days a week:
Monday–Friday: 8 AM – 6 PM
Saturday–Sunday: 9 AM – 3 PM
Do you do family practice or just urgent care?
We do both. Bay Urgent Care and Family Practice provides walk-in urgent care for sudden illness or injury, plus family practice for ongoing primary care relationships — annual physicals, chronic disease management, and preventive care.
Learn more on our Urgent Care or Family Practice pages.
Do you treat kids?
Yes — we see patients ages 6 months and up. For infants under 6 months, we recommend a dedicated pediatric provider. Beyond infancy, we treat patients of all ages, from young children through seniors. Our providers are calm with kids and use kid-friendly approaches like skin glue instead of stitches when appropriate.
Will I see the same provider each visit?
For family practice visits, we make every effort to schedule you with the same provider so you build a real relationship over time. For urgent care walk-ins, you'll see whichever provider is available — but our team of five providers all share access to your records, so continuity is preserved.

Insurance & Billing
What insurance do you accept?
We accept most major Michigan insurance carriers including Medicare, Priority Health, BCBS, Blue Care Network, McLaren Health Plan, Humana, Tribal Insurance, Auto, and Workers' Compensation. We are in-network with Aetna and Cigna only through their PPOM plans.
See the full list and details on our Insurance & Billing page.
Do you take patients without insurance?
Yes. Self-pay patients are welcome. Payment is due at time of service, and we can give you an estimate before your visit if you call ahead.
How do I pay my bill online?
Pay 24/7 through our secure online patient portal at healowpay.com. First-time users will need to register with your account information. You can also pay by phone or in person.
What's your no-show policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or missed appointments may result in a $25 service charge that isn't reimbursable by insurance.
CATEGORY THREE
Services
Do you do X-rays on-site?
Yes. We have an on-site X-ray room and provide same-visit imaging for fractures, suspected pneumonia, kidney stones, foreign body localization, and more. Your provider reviews the images during your visit.
More info on our X-Ray page.
Can I get a sports or school physical here?
Yes. We complete sports physicals, school physicals, camp physicals, and MHSAA forms during a single walk-in visit. Bring the form and your insurance card.
Details on our Sports & School Physicals page.
Do you do DOT physicals?
Yes. DOT physicals are performed by Dr. Joshua Saur, our certified medical examiner on the FMCSA National Registry. DOT exams are by appointment — call (231) 753-1400 to schedule.
Details on our DOT Physicals page.
What do you NOT treat?
For your safety, the following situations should go to the ER instead of urgent care: severe chest pain, suspected stroke, severe trouble breathing, suspected spinal injury, severe blood loss, open fractures, or any life-threatening situation.
We also do not provide IV fluids, joint injections, or pap smears at this clinic, and we do not see infants under 6 months of age.
When in doubt, call 911 for emergencies, or call us and we'll help you decide where to go.
How does lab work happen here?
Lab work is done as part of your visit — bloodwork, urinalysis, pregnancy tests, drug screens, STI testing, and more. Lab services are available Monday through Friday during clinic hours. If your provider orders labs during your visit, we'll handle them right then.
More on our Lab Services page.
CATEGORY FOUR
New Patients & Forms
What should I bring to my first visit?
Bring your photo ID, insurance card, list of current medications and allergies, and any new patient forms you've completed.
Full checklist on our New Patient page.
How do I get the new patient forms?
Download the new patient packet from our New Patient page. Print it, complete what you can, and bring it with you. If you don't have a printer, show up a few minutes early and we'll give you a copy at check-in.
How do I transfer my records from another doctor?
Bring records from your previous provider to your first visit if possible, or we can request them on your behalf with a signed release. Records transfers typically take 1–2 weeks. We can start care without them in the meantime — they're not required for your first visit.
